The Fortune Teller

Up Front:
Morality play

Audiences for "The Fortune Teller" sit on the Hopkins Center's Moore Theater stage itself—the better to experience at close range this gleefully ghoulish morality fable for grown-ups. New York-based artist Erik Sanko's marvelously creepy handcrafted marionettes tell a tale of seven unusual characters who are invited to the reading of the will of a late millionaire industrialist. One by one, they get what's coming to them, but not what they expect. Shows tonight and Saturday, with a Saturday matinee added.
